Kingsland Point Park is an 18-acre park situated on the eastern shore of the Hudson River at the entrance of the Pocantico River in Sleepy Hollow Village New York. With the fascinating overlook areas and views of the historic Tarrytown Lighthouse, Kings Point Park was one of the first parks originated by the Westchester County Parks Commission.
King Point Park was constructed between 1973 and 1985. It provides picnic sites, ball fields, hiking, fishing, and playgrounds. It can only be accessed from the Palmer Avenue Bridge over the Metro-North tracks. The park is run by the Village of Sleepy Hollow.
The Kingsland Point Park offers fascinating overlook areas and sceneries of the historic Tarrytown Lighthouse as well as picnic areas, ball fields, hiking fishing, and a playground.
Entrances of the Kingsland Point Park
The entrances of the Kingsland Point Park are on Steamboat Road or Redbrook Road, 482-9257. It has 175 acres where there are more than five miles of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. There are four softball diamonds, four Har-Tru tennis courts, Two all-weather basketball courts, a soccer field, horseshoe pitching, and Sled Hill for winter relaxation.
Enjoy the clean and beautiful restrooms whose ambiance is welcoming. The tennis courts are open on or about May 15th and are closed on or about October 15th. If the weather permits, in full season, the courts are operational from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Things to Do in Kingsland Point Park
Kingsland Point Park is owned by Westchester County but managed by the Village of Sleepy Hollow. It is a big riverfront park that boasts playground equipment, soccer/lacrosse fields, barbeque grills, bathrooms, kayak tours, and Sleepy Hollow’s historic lighthouse.
There are two picnic sections, two covered pavilions, and the Kathryn W. Davis Pavilion which are available for private rentals.
Kingsland Point Park is a lovely park alongside the Hudson River. There are picnic benches as well as a playground area. There is a path to get to the nice Lighthouse. Walk, or run alongside the water with amazing views of the lighthouse and the Tappan Zee that is the Mario Cuomo bridge.
There is a mural wall project where various artists paint on a long wall. There is some nice artwork up there. Great place for afternoon walks or runs.
Davis Pavilion is great for weddings and other special events too. Enjoy the cooling breezes from the river or see the Tarrytown lighthouse. This fascinating park also allows you to enjoy your time at Kingsland Point Park, a gathering place for families of various ethnic backgrounds out to spend time together on a beautiful weather day. It is a very pleasant sport.
The Kingsland Point Park and the sceneries are so beautiful, especially on a clear day. If you walk down to the lighthouse and the path goes all the way to Tarrytown. You will love it. This is a little gem on the river. Enjoy the bratwurst, music and beer and pretzels, and the biggest display of German pastries around.
It is a great park that is peaceful and quiet in an otherwise busy little town. One of the few places you can relax, breathe and view the beautiful waterway (Hudson). Enjoy this peaceful venue with a kids’ playground and dog park where you must have a permit from the town.

The entrance or parking for Kingsland Point Park will cost you $5.00 per Sleepy Hollow resident vehicle or Westchester County Park pass holder vehicle. No-residents and non-county cardholders are charged $10.00.
Pet Friendly
There is a dog park at Kingsland Point Park that allows the holders only. A permit may be obtained from the Clerk’s office. There is also a dog run for your furry friend.

Located right on the Hudson River, the park offers large ballfields, a playground, and picnic facilities aplenty. From this park, one can walk along the river to the Tarrytown Lighthouse. A very pleasant spot indeed. There is an enclosed dog run. The south end of the park has access to the old lighthouse which is occasionally open to the public.
